AMES presenta el cuento de Coco y Pipa para menores que viven con personas con miastenia

- AMES presentó el pasado 12 de julio en el Real Patronato sobre Discapacidad su primer cuento infantil “La historia de Coco y Pipa. Dos aMiGos. ¡Cuánto me gusta jugar contigo!”
- El acto de presentación contó con representantes de COCEMFE y de AMES quienes explicaron en qué consiste el proyecto
- Financiado a través del 0,7% del IRPF gestionado por COCEMFE, este proyecto ha sido posible gracias a las personas que marcan la X Solidaria en su declaración de la renta

Cerca de 30 personas acudieron el pasado 12 de julio en Madrid a la presentación del cuento “La historia de Coco y Pipa. Dos aMiGos. ¡Cuánto me gusta jugar contigo!”, un proyecto nacional y ejecutado por AMES con el que se pretende atender a las necesidades de los y las menores que conviven con personas que tienen miastenia en cuanto a información sobre la enfermedad y comprensión sobre la misma desde la perspectiva del menor. En concreto, en este caso, la mamá de Coco, un niño de 7 años, tiene miastenia y él habla con Pipa sobre ello, mientras ésta le ayuda a entender la enfermedad y le aconseja.
9.600 personas en España tienen esta enfermedad que provoca una debilidad extrema en los músculos voluntarios, en crisis cuyos efectos se manifiestan de manera instantánea y pueden durar horas, llegando a afectar al movimiento, el habla, la visión y la respiración.
Con este proyecto, respaldado por la Confederación Española de Personas con Discapacidad Física y Orgánica (COCEMFE), se pretende además, llegar a instituciones públicas y/o privadas como centros de salud, hospitales, universidades… para que cuenten con el mismo en sus bibliotecas y sirvan de apoyo tanto a profesionales como a estudiantes y/o interesados.
El acto contó con la participación de Anxo Queiruga, presidente de COCEMFE, quien explicó la importancia que tienen proyectos como éste porque permiten dar visibilidad a las personas con discapacidad y sensibilizar en un tema tan importante como es la comprensión y el apoyo.
Por parte de AMES, Pilar Robles, presidenta de la asociación, y Mamen Almazán, psicóloga y coautora del cuento, explicaron como inició el proyecto de Coco y Pipa, desde la creación de los muñecos, las propuestas para el cuento, las entrevistas e ideas, entre otras cuestiones. La entidad recuerda que este proyecto forma parte de uno mayor que se está ejecutando gracias a la subvención procedente del 0,7% del IRPF del Ministerio de Sanidad, Servicios Sociales e Igualdad gestionado COCEMFE. La Confederación gestiona esta subvención para la financiación de los proyectos prioritarios de sus entidades miembros, proporcionándoles asesoramiento y realizando un seguimiento pormenorizado durante todo el proceso. En este caso, el proyecto se enmarca en el Programa estratégico de COCEMFE de difusión, sensibilización y empoderamiento de las personas con necesidades de atención integral socio sanitaria.
